SP Fort Hospital concluded its Free Gynaecology Camp, held throughout July at its Fort, Trivandrum campus. The month-long initiative was designed to make quality women's healthcare more accessible, encouraging women across the community to prioritize their health through expert consultations, preventive screenings, and essential diagnostic services, often at little to no cost.
Expert Care, Close to Home
The camp was led by Dr. P. Deepa, Gynaecologist & Infertility Specialist, and Dr. Bindu Balakrishnan, Senior Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Together, they provided personalized consultations on a wide range of concerns, including menstrual irregularities, fibroid evaluation, PCOS and PCOD management, menstrual health, nutrition, and pregnancy planning, creating a supportive space where women felt comfortable discussing health issues they may otherwise have put off.
What the Camp Offered
Every participant received free registration and a specialist consultation, along with GRBS, CBC, and TSH testing, and breast examinations. Diagnostic services were also made available, including Pap smear tests, urine tests, and ultrasound scans, with a 20% discount extended on any further investigations recommended by the doctors.
A Step Towards Better Health Awareness
The camp saw an encouraging turnout, with many women using the opportunity to undergo preventive check-ups and seek timely medical guidance, some discovering and addressing health concerns early, before they could become more serious. Initiatives like this play a vital role in building awareness around women's health and supporting early detection of common gynaecological conditions.
SP Fort Hospital extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated, and acknowledges the dedication of its doctors, nurses, and support staff, whose care made the initiative a success. The hospital remains committed to organizing community-focused healthcare programs that improve access to quality care and support healthier lives for women across the region.
